By bringing speech and occupational therapy together, we simplify your family’s schedule. You can plan joint sessions or consecutive OT and speech appointments if it works for your child, reduce the number of appointments, and enjoy a consistent, collaborative approach to help your child progress comfortably. Access both services here or just one, either way we do our best to find appointment times that work for you.

What to expect when you visit SPOT?
We know starting therapy can feel daunting for both caregivers and children.
In your first contact with us we’ll take the time to talk through your needs and explain how we work. You’ll know upfront about our fees, current availability, and we can guide you around funding options to make things clear and stress-free.
Our aim is to make your first visit simple, comfortable, and reassuring:
Step 1: Easy initial call
After deciding to go ahead with occupational therapy, speech pathology, or both services, we book an initial call with your therapist. In this call your therapist will find out about your concerns for your child, your goals and areas to focus on, your child’s strengths and interests to tailor their first session and offer an opportunity for you to speak freely with the therapist before attending the first session with your child.
Step 2: In-clinic initial appointment
After your initial phone call your therapist will have made a tailored plan for your child’s initial session in the clinic, based on your areas of concern. This may look like play, observation, individualised assessment and further information gathering through discussion. Rest assured, ‘play’ and ‘playing your child’s way’ following their lead provides a significant amount of information about your child, and in many cases is the best way to gather information around their current skills and abilities. Some children may require formal, standardised assessment, others may benefit from a less structured approach. Following this session you will receive a written summary detailing the information gathered, areas of strength and concern, areas for further investigation and recommendations.
Meet-and-greet option
Curious if we’re the right fit? Book a meet-and-greet 45 minute session to get a feel for our space and see how we work, without any pressure and decide on assessment after.
Step 3: Collaborative Goal-Setting
Together, we’ll set achievable goals based on your child’s needs, strengths, and interests. You’ll have a clear plan and a sense of what to expect from therapy.
