What to expect when getting started with SPOT Paediatrics

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and we want you to feel fully informed and supported every step of the way. We prioritise clear communication so you know what to expect before, during, and after your child’s appointment.

The process

Our goal is to ensure that you’re confident in the process, from your first call to your child’s first session, and that both you and your child feel comfortable and prepared for your speech pathology or occupational therapy initial appointments.

Step 1: Request Appointment

The first step in the process is to request an initial appointment.

Step 2: Initial Call

Discuss your child’s challenges and therapy needs. We’ll provide information on fees and availability upfront. *Our fees are in line with the 2024-2025 NDIS Price Guide

Step 3: Appointment or Waitlist

Choose to book an appointment or join our waitlist, depending on availability.

Step 4: Pre-Assessment Call

Your assigned therapist will contact you to understand your concerns before the first session, and we’ll send intake forms to finalise details prior to your phone call.

Step 5: First Session

A 60-minute assessment session will be conducted. In some instances an additional session may be required to complete assessment, your therapist will advise you if this is the case.

Step 6: Follow-Up

Receive a summary (short assessment) comprehensive report (long assessment) outlining your therapist’s recommendations for therapy and secure your appointment preferences if you would like ongoing therapy with us.

Help your child build the skills they need to thrive. Enquire today to book an appointment with our expert team.
